The Kommeno peninsula with a village of the same name is located between the resorts of Dassia and Gouvia, more precisely 12 km north of Kerkyra on the east coast of Corfu. It is a very calm place, with the small church of Ypapanti. You shouldn´t really expect too much bustling nighltlife there. On the other hand, the place is perfect for those searching for a calm place for summer relaxation. The village surrounded by olive groves is a true oasis of peace, and if you want to have some fun or go shopping, you can always go to the 4 km far busier resorts of Dassia and Gouvia. In the very resort, you will find plenty of tavernas with tasty home cuisine and also a few supermarkets with basic foodstuffs. Kommeno has a good bus connection to the capital, or you can a taxi or rent a car or a scooter.
The local beach is a mixed or rather a pebble one, with a gentle entry into the sea, and it is well protected from the wind. You will find there the basic beach service including umbrellas with deckchairs and showers, and you can refresh yourself in the local bars and tavernas.
